Teacher's Guide: Introduction
I. FOREWORD
Whom is this Guide written for?
It is for all language teachers interested in using Cultura and adapting it to their own context. It is intended both for College/University Professors and for High School teachers.
What is the purpose of this Guide?
To provide you with all the pedagogical help necessary for integrating Cultura into one of your language courses.
What is the Guide based on?
All activities suggested in the Guide have been thoroughly tested in the classroom over the past ten years. The examples we give are based on the original French/American exchange started at MIT in 1997.
II. CONTENT The Guide contains five different chapters:
1. Introduction
2. First Stage
This includes preliminary activities and the necessary first step of Cultura: answering the questionnaires
3. The Modules
This chapter contains a detailed description of the different modules, their content and uses.
4. The Forums
This lets you know how and when to use the forums.
5. Student Assignments
These include some assignments specific to each chapter as well as suggestions for other types of assignments, such as essays or the Carnet de Bord.
