It's interesting to see how different one word can be in two countries. I found myself very amused to see that in Italy, the U.S. is associated with Obama and all of our advances. In America, we tend to associate the U.S. with freedom. It may have to deal with the fact that here in America we are constantly being reminded of it either through the news or movies. And i'm assuming in Italy the median is the same, although instead of hearing about freedom from the U.S. like we do you all probably just hear about our political issues and advances. It's interesting, hearing another's take on our country. Was Obama as big a figure in Italy as he is here? Or did he just show up on the news a lot?

In Italia si è parlato molto di Obama,sopratutto nel periodo delle elezioni,in Italia tutti speravano nella sua elezione perchè avrebbe portato quel cambiamento di cui c'era bisogno. I telegiornali hanno trasmesso per la prima volta in diretta le elezioni americane,proprio perchè le elezioni americane erano diventate anche per gli italiani molto importanti e dopo che è stato eletto Obama gli stessi tg hanno dedicato ampio spazio al suo insediamento nella Casa Bianca.Obama ha avuto lo stesso spazio televisivo in Italia come se fosse stato eletto il presidente del Consiglio italiano.
