I have trouble imagining this; it has never happened to me in 16 years of schooling. I would most likely ignore the student.
I would not help the student, because it might possibly get me in trouble, and I would not want to go through a lengthy plagiarism case. There are serious consequences for helping someone cheat as well as cheating, and I would not want to face them.
I would probably do my best to ignore the student.
I would probably gesture quietly that I wouldn't be able to help, and perhaps discuss that question with them after the exam.

За всё годы учёбы просто ДОСТАЛИ с этими просьбами. Я, конечно, терпеливый человек, но всему есть предел... Помогу, если это мой друг, но буду раздражаться. Если это не друг, скажу, что мне некогда.
Если у меня уже все сделано и у меня есть свободное время то почему бы и нет.
Если у меня достаточно времени и есть возможность помочь (т.е. когда преподаватель не видит, как я что-то объясняю однокурснику), то, конечно, помогу.

Ответы русских и американских студентов очень отличаются друг от друга. Большинство русских студентов ответили, что помогут, если будет возможность, в то время как, американские студенты в основном предпочли не делать этого, т.к. они боятся, что в связи с этим у них могут быть проблемы (заметит преподаватель). Это интересно. Не думала, что мы настолько отличаемся в реакции на просьбу о помощи.
Definitely opinions of Russin and American students are absolutely contrary. And it shows differences in mentalities.

Russian and American students' answers are very different. The majority of Russian ones said that they would help, when American students replied that they wouldn't do anything for help because they're afraid of problems. It's very interesting. I didn't think we are so different in reaction on the request of help.
Our answers are absolutely opposite...I think in our countries we have different educational system and different mentalitities..

Our answers were 100% different from the American students' ones. It happens for the first time during the discussion. Now we can really see the difference between our two nations. I also think it all depends on our educational systems. In Russia there are no such harsh punishments for helping another student. Of course, there might be troubles for you as well. But it must be really strict in the US.
If I'm busy with my tasks when a person asks for my help I'll probably tell the person to wait until I'm finished and then do my best to help him/her. But I can become furious with a person who never learns anything counting on my help and keeps on abusing me during exams which constantly happened to me at school. I would decline such requests. And sometimes even the most hardworking people can have difficulties. In this case, I'll help the person.
The difference between answers of Russians and Americans is so large. Americans would not help others student, but Russians would do it. I think that people should help each other. And I agree with Roman, I think it's terrific to ignore somebody's asking about help.
our oppinions are completly different.I was very surprised at the answers of american students.Maybe it happened because we have different mentality.
I was really surprised at the difference of the answers between Russian students and American students.As for me, it was unusial to see that students wouldn't help people, if they asked for helping...I wonder if American students do the same way even they would be asked by their best friends...
По моему разница есть, потому что в Америке, наказывают и того, кто списывал и того, кто помог. Мы не хотим получить двойку из-за того, что преподаватель думает, что мы списывали. Это другая ситуация до экзамена, когда мы помогаем друг другу.
Ответы американских студентов и российских студентов полностью противоположны. В Америке, когда преподаватель застает студента, который списываeт, тот студент обычно получает 0, и если этот студент часто списывает, он может быть выслан из школы. Также, преподаватель обычно рассердится на тем, кто помогает кому-то списывать.
Я согласна с Даниелом - в американских школах и университетах, если вы списываете, потом вы получите 0. В Браунском Университете (в нашем университете), если вы списываете, потом вы можете быть высланы из университета, и никогда не можете вернуться.
Это конечна показывает культ индивидуализм у нас. Но это важна помнет что во наших вуз, возможна что тебя выгнут со буза если мы помогшим друг друга.

До того, как экзамены, если бы другой студент или мои друзья попросили меня помочь с учёбе, я бы определённо помогаю. Но пока сдаваю экзамен -- разная ситуация!
По-моему, ответы американских студенты - результат индивидуализма в Америке. У нас нет группах и мы не знаем быть в самом классе с самым людьми в течение многих лет, и всегда помочь друг другу.
Здесь было самая большая разница между американских и русских студентов. Я не знаю, если это потому что наши системы разные, или потому что наши жизни и культуры отличаются друг от другу. (Капитализм и коммунизм...просто одна идея)
