If for some reason I had decided not to drink at the party, I would explain to them why I am choosing not to. If they continued to make fun of me, I'd leave. Making fun of me isn't going to get me to change my mind.

I don't care, why should I? They're the ones who are going to get drunk and make fools of themselves and I'll remember the whole thing.
I would ignore them or defend myself. If it got too bad, I would leave the party.
I would revel in my superiority and probably leave.
I'd say that it's my choice to not drink becuase I don't need a drug to have fun or connect with my friends. I'd rather be clear headed and in the moment experiencing fun, than intoxicated.

this would not affect me because it only matters how I feel about not drinking and I am fine with it. People who are drunk are often funnier than those who are sober

well erik, that might just be another one of the stereotypes. and it's not like american kids don't drink all the time, lol.
C'est vrai que les fraçais ont tendance à beaucoup boire lorsqu'ils font des fêtes, mais certains aiment rester sobre.
Peut-être que cette réputation vient du fait que la vente d'alcool est peut survaillée malgré les lois ...
Are there any laws about underraged drinking? Because here if someone over 21 gives alcohol to a minor., they could go to jail.
It seems like most of us are in agreement here. I thought it would be much different. It's possible (but I doubt it) that people said what they thought they should as opposed to what they really thought.
Oui Lauren, nous avons ces mêmes lois en France. Il est interdit d'aider un mineur à se procurer de l'alcool ou même de lui en vendre.

Je voulais dire que l'alcool en France est interdit pour les mineurs, mais depuis mes 14 ans j'ai toujours pu en acheter ! J'achetais donc des bouteilles pour les soirées 4 ans avant ma majorité ! Alors vive les lois Françaises !!!!
En france a partir de 18 ans nous pouvons acheter de l'alcool légalement.
De toute maniere je ne suis jamais SAM (celui qui ne boit pas) étant donné que je n'est pas encore le permis.
En France, des campagnes de prévention nous mette en garde contre les dangers de l'alcool, leur slogan est "boire ou concuire, à toi de choisir!" seulement moi j'ai pas l'permis, donc j'ai pas l'choix ! Je bois !
J'ai une question, est ce qu'il y a des grosses soirées étudiante dans vos lycées ou univertsités comme on peut le voir dans "American Pie " ?

Well from what I know of I'm sure you could find a party similar to that of American Pie but that all depends on the school and the people.

Yes there are kings and queens voted on at proms (dances) but at our particular school we don't do that. But like I said they do that at other schools
