I think that based on the responses, some of us from America feel like art is something that is viewed as being superior to other things. (Ex: Upper Class, Corrupted by lots of people)

Whereas the French answers indicate more that art is something that everyone can do. Except for the person who said "inutile, laid".

I'm not sure if there was any clear division between our answers.   Most of us seemed to agree art is a form of expression and beauty, and can contain symbolism.

I agree with Eleanor. I think this might be because, personally, when I think about "Art" I think about classical paintings and major works of art, most of which are European.

What really make me happy is that one person in each group picked an artist as one of their responses and they both started with the letter "P".

pour moi l'art et un moyen de faire passer des emotions ou notre vision des choses. il peut etre beau ou moche visuellement mais se jugement et subjectif, chacun y vera se qu'il voudra y voir. :)

Beaucoup associent le mot "art" avec "beau" mais certaine fois on peu qualifier d'art quelque chose de repoussant. En France il est vrai que l'art est présent sous diverses formes et de differentes periodes comme par exemple les église gothique ou les batiments romanesque qui font partis de l'architecture  mais également dans les musée comme le musée du Louvre de plus chaques villes possèdent des galeries d'art où des artistes, plus ou moins connus, peuvent exposer. Il serait trop long de tout lister mais juste une question:

Est ce que aux Etats Unis l'art est présent dans la vie quotidienne?

L'art est une fin en lui même.
