Though money is associated on both lists with "success," it is mentioned more often on the American side, especially in conjunction with amassing wealth, luxury goods, and power. There is more contradiction in the meaning of success on the French list as it is both a definition of financial achievement and also a realization of happiness (joie, bonheur, respect). Do you think both aspects of success are equally significant? Also, now that you've worked hard enough to attend ENST, what is your greatest motivation for continued success? Are most students hired for jobs right out of school?

Un proverbe français dit que "l'argent ne fait pas le bonheur". Disons que pour nous, quelqu'un qui a réussi peut avoir, par la même occasion, amassé de l'argent, mais c'est une condition nécessaire de succès (et encore, pas toujours), elle n'est (pour nous) pas suffisante! Personnellement, maintenant que je suis à l'ENST, ma motivation n'est plus professionnelle; elle est plutôt, comme les élèves français l'ont dit, de réussir à côté. Sinon oui, la très grande majorité des élèves sont embauchés avant même d'avoir le diplôme de l'école, trouver un travail n'est donc pas difficile (c'est ce qu'on nous dit en tout cas).
