Discussion

I noticed that the American students named mostly cities in the USA and the New England area, while the Chinese students put mostly Chinese cities. Both groups of students name New York City, which shows just how prominent of a city NY is world-wide.

I noticed that both the American and Chinese students put a lot of similar things. Both named New York and Beijing, and both said things such as busy, crowded, noisy, etc. However I noticed that some Chinese students connected the city to how it makes them feel, while the American students did not.

We are the University of Rhode Island located on the Northeast side of the greatest country in the world (America) so that is probably why you see a focus on the New England area.

The United States has a lot of National Pride, but inside that National pride there is also pride from being from a certain State or region of the United States. For example, someone from New York would not want to wear a New York Football shirt in Boston…It would end badly.
