Discussion

When it comes to shopping, Americans love it. After having a long week at work, Americans love spending their money going to shopping malls, buy groceries and dine at a expensive restaurants. I feel like Chinese are the same way when it comes to shopping. After all, shopping is a fun activity and one should reward themselves after working hard. My question is how much do you usually spend when you go shopping? and what do you usually shop for?

Both the Chinese and Americans talked about how to shop (online vs stores, money and credit cards). The Americans focused more on the the things they bought while shopping than the Chinese students. The Chinese students talked more about the shopping experience (it’s crazy, being picky). Do the Chinese often make impulse purchases or do they only buy what they were planning on getting before the went out?

I usually shop for clothes when I go shopping, but I also love to shop for technologies. Online shopping is very popular here in America, A lot people now shop online for clothes, shoes and books. Is online shopping popular in China?

I observed, that in both the responses, “online shopping” and “clothes” were really popular answers, showing that the process is pretty universal and similar everywhere.

I wonder if shopping in China is expensive or cheap?
